Sharp IS03 – The New KDDI Android Smartphone
Sharp and KDDI have collaborated to launch the IS03 Android smartphone in late-November 2010. Measuring 6.3cm × 12.1cm × 1.26cm and weighing at 138 grams, the IS03 features Sharp’s own 9.6 megapixel CCD camera with autofocus and ProPix image processor, a 960×640-resolution 3.5-inch touchscreen, an Android OS 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2 on a yet-unannounced date) with Flash Lite 4.0, Android Market and KDDI’s “one Market”. What’s more, the IS03 also has an infrared for quick data communication between two phones, a one-seg TV for watching TV on-the-go, and the Osaifu-keitai contact-less IC payment chip. The battery is rated for 230 minutes of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. No word on pricing at this time.
