The Peugeot 508 benefits from three petrol and five diesel engines offering a power output from 112 to 204 bhp. The most-powerful engine in the range is the new 2.2 litre HDi FAP 204bhp offering a level of performance worthy of a V6 diesel but with a carbon footprint reduced by more than 30%! Peugeot has also announced plans for a future HYbrid4 model boasting 200bhp, four-wheel drive and CO2 emissions from just 99 g/km.
The 508 is slated to be produced in France for Europe first, and will go elsewhere — including Australia — in mid-2011, followed by production in China.
Inspired by the SR1 concept car, the new Peugeot 508 boasts a stylish, streamlined exterior with a “floating” single grille and piercing LED day-and-night headlamps.
