Bowler EXR Nemesis
The Bowler Motor Company have made a name for themselves as one of the world's best tuning company's for Land Rover products. But in fact they don't really tune Land Rovers, as much as they tear them down to their component pieces, and then put them back together in a totally new and much, much better way.
The Bowler EXR Nemesis is the road going version of the Nemesis RACE - an out-and-out off-road racer.
The EXR Nemesis is available with either a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine which produces 600 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Or a 3.0 litre turbodiesel V6 which develops a more manageable 291 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque.
With the beastier of the two engine options the Bowler EXR Nemesis can drag its 1,750 kg (3,858 lb) bulk up to 60 mph in under 5 seconds.
The transmission is handled by a six-speed automatic paddle-shift gearbox coupled to an electronically controlled differential and transfer box.
Sitting atop the specially constructed spaceframe chassis are composite bodypanels which only vaugely resemble contemporary Land Rover products - it's the lights and grille that mainly give it away.
Inside there is room for two. The interior trim is mainly composed of carbon fiber and aluminium components and leather seats. To reduce weight the windows are polycarbonate - but the vehicle is still equipped with electric front windows. An air conditioning system and sound system ensure that there is a reasonably high level of comfort depite the race-bred engineering.
