Maruti India which recently launched the refreshed version of the most selling hatchback New Maruti Swift has again repeated the success, as the car got an overwhelming response with a prior booking of 50,000 units. The most amazing was to see that as expected the 80% of these bookings are for the diesel variant of the car.

As the new Maruti Swift is high end so it is facing major supply crisis, not only the company but also the buyers are having problems as the waiting period of the car has reached upto 4 months. Not only has the diesel variant, the petrol variant of the New Swift also got a waiting period of about 2-3 months. This problem is soon expected to come down as the Maruti Swift export unit production is going to shift down to the Indian plant from the Hungary plant. This step would reduce the waiting period of the car to a lot of extent.

The drawbacks of the New Swift Diesel include the lack of ABS technology on the VDi model which is the low end model of the diesel variant.
