Morning of September 20, 2011 witnessed one more remarkable event in the history of Japanese auto biggie Nissan, when it launched its new variant Nissan Sunny in Indian car market. After successful launch of Nissan Micra in hatchback segment Nissan Sunny has made its debut in sedan segment of Indian car market. This new mid-sized sedan Nissan Sunny is being manufactured at company's Oragadam plant near Chennai. The design of sedan Nissan Sunny is based V-platform as introduced in Renault Nissan. Nissan Sunny is launched in 3 trims chiefly Nissan Sunny XE, Nissan Sunny XL and Nissan Sunny XV. Nissan Sunny price for the base variant, Nissan Sunny XE is tagged at Rs 5.78 lakhs, while the Nissan Sunny XL is priced at Rs 6.68 lakhs and Nissan Sunny XV has been tagged at Rs 7.68 lakhs (ex showroom price). At present Nissan has launched petrol variant of Nissan Sunny but it has announced that soon it will be also bringing diesel variant of Nissan Sunny as it did with launch of Nissan Micra.
