Maruti to roll out new 800cc car soon

The dominant car maker Maruti Suzuki India is planning to work upon a new product of car from the small car segment. Mr. I.V. Rao, Managing Executive Officer of Engineering reportedly said that they are taking new steps to bring a new model of car which is unique of its own kind. The main concept behind this new car project is to bring a new car which matches with Maruti Alto, the highest selling car with approximately 30,000 units sold every month. Mr. Rao did not open up when he was asked about the price of the car but indicated that the new car will be a revised and an all new car build up on the path of M800 car model.

The new car from Maruti India is expected to be equipped with an 800cc engine. Maruti Suzuki India wants to overcome the losses that the company faced with the M800 which lost its market in 13 cities in an issue of strict emission norms and is believed to be phased out from other parts of the country too.

Maruti India wishes to work up on this project solely with less support of Suzuki, the Japanese collaborator. Maruti has contributed its man power for the completion of production works of various facelifted cars like Swift and the A-Star which are being sold in the global markets. Maruti India plans to introduce this new 800cc car in Indian market for now. But, may shoot for overseas if further profits are seen.Mr. Rao also emphasized upon the new 800cc car to be based on the present platform and that this new car will be a revolutionary step towards the growth in the profit of the company.

Maruti India stands intact at the top spot

Small car industry is a kind of thing in these days because of all the international car manufacturers entered in to this segment. Now the Honda is also planning to launch its Honda Brio hatchback car in to the Indian auto market to stand in the line with Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford. Up to now only Maruti India is holding share of 52 per sent in hatchback car segment and remain 48 per sent sales market is occupying by the rest of the companies. In recent days the Maruti is also getting tough competition from the Volkswagen polo, Toyota Etios Liva and  Ford Figo which are getting good response from the Indians. Hatchback cars segment is improving very fast because of the hike in petrol prices periodically. Maruti is also waiting to launch its upgraded Maruti Swift 2011 model on 17th of August of this year. The initiate of this model is postponed due to some internal process other wise this model has to enter on the last week of this July as per the action plan.
